Art Knowlson, a founding partner of the Firm who has practiced law for more than 30 years, specializes in transactions including the acquisitions and sales of businesses as well as the formation of U.S. and foreign entities. Additionally, Mr. Knowlson provides estate planning for business owners and their families. Mr. Knowlson’s emphasis is on tax planning. He structures transactions and develops estate planning strategies to provide his clients with optimum tax savings and tax benefits. Mr. Knowlson represents both U.S. and international clients engaged in a wide range of business activities. They include manufacturers, builders, real estate developers, investment groups, restaurateurs, producers, actors, contractors and professional firms.

Mr. Knowlson graduated from Rutgers University and the University of San Diego School of Law. He received an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law.

Before forming the Firm, Mr. Knowlson had established his own practice in Newport Beach after leaving Wyman, Bautzer, Rothman, Kuchel & Silbert. Mr. Knowlson is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is resident in the Firm’s Newport Beach office.

In addition to California, Mr. Knowlson has been admitted to practice law in England, Wales and the British Virgin Islands.

For many years, Mr. Knowlson has taught graduate tax classes to lawyers and accountants as an Adjunct Professor at Golden Gate University Graduate School of Taxation and California State University at Fullerton. Additionally, Mr. Knowlson lectures frequently to certified public accounting firms on taxation topics. Mr. Knowlson has addressed the Continuing Education of the Bar, the California Society of Public Accountants and other professional groups.

Mr. Knowlson is involved in a number of charitable activities and nonprofit groups including the Newport Beach Film Festival.
